Check samples in different lighting
Hold the sample at the window and inspect it from inside the room and from neighbouring viewpoints where possible. Compare fabrics during daylight and with the room lights on. Sheers transmit light and should not be treated as an opaque privacy screen. Discuss a denser second layer where privacy matters.
At the measurement visit, compare the colour, weave, view through the fabric and appearance in folds. The labels organza, voile and mesh do not replace the composition and specifications of a particular fabric. Confirm availability of the selected fabric before agreeing production timing.
Prepare for the measurement visit
- Photographs of the full window, ceiling or recess and any existing track.
- Approximate dimensions and your preferred finish at the sill or floor.
- Opening direction and the space available for the curtain stack.
- The position of balcony doors, furniture and other obstructions.
- Your preferences for folds, fixing and manual or motorized operation.
Final dimensions and fabric quantities are agreed after measurement. For several windows, decide whether the finished height, folds and opening direction should match across the room.
Combine sheers with blackout curtains or motorization
For a room that needs darkness, consider pairing sheers with blackout curtains. Plan the two layers together, including track rows, clearances and space for the open fabric stack. For motorization, we separately check the track, curtain weight, power supply and selected controls.
